The Netherlands and the Brainport region of Eindhoven are worldwide leaders in photonics innovation. The Netherlands houses 160 photonics related companies and research organizations, plus two out of Europe’s four photonics foundries.
Photonics is strong all across Europe. Because of its open ecosystem already in place, including an expert network across the continent, Europe is believed to have a two-year lead over other continents.
With a population of 227,000, Eindhoven is the largest city in the southern Netherlands. It is a city bursting with innovative energy, which we are happy to share with you. When googling innovation, it is no coincidence that the first images popping up are light bulbs.
