Photonics Applications Week welcomes Stijn Grove, Managing Director, Dutch Data Center Association, as Advisory Board Member for IT & Telecom

DDA connects the market-leading Dutch Data Centers to strengthen economic growth and drive awareness of Data Centers. DDA stimulates interaction between its participants, partners, government, interest groups and platforms. It promotes the role, impact and significance of Data Centers in our society and represents the interests of the DDA participants.

Stijn also heads the Digital Gateway to Europe organisation to promote the Netherlands as the international digital hub. Next to his work for the DDA and Digital Gateway to Europe Stijn is the co-initiator of the Digital Infrastructure Netherlands foundation, the umbrella organisation for the Dutch digital infrastructure sector. Invitation for update meeting on PHAPPS Week, September 6, Sectie C, Eindhoven

During the first week of October, Photonics Applications Week (PHAPPS Week) will take place in the Netherlands. Solely focused on Applications of Photonics and what it can bring to your industry / business, with visitors from home and abroad. In many locations, PHAPPS facilitates conferences, workshops, exhibitions, lectures, networking events, debates, hackathons and festivities.

After a successful Kick-off meeting on April 24 and an update meeting on June 14, where participants from the end-user industry and photonics business, as well as from research and governmental institutions gathered to discuss the framework and the activities that will be organised during the PHAPPS Week this autumn. Marcel van Haren works as clustermanager Agri & Food at FME, the Dutch association for entrepreneurs in the technology industry. In the cluster over 15 organisations cooperate to accelerate the innovation in the field of machines, technology and ICT for the agri & food sector. Besides his primary role of clustermanager Marcel is also director of GMV, the association of machinebuilders for foodprocessing, and NAFTC, the export platform for Agri & Food solutions, having offices in China, India, Vietnam and Turkey. In 2013 Marcel van Haren, in his role at FME, was involved in the setup and start of the Postharvest Network, driven by a strong believe that helping developing countries to prevent having large volumes of post harvest losses, is one of the biggest gains for having less foodwaste in the world.
